Chartres and our Petite Chateau in the Loire Valley / Photo Diary

Where: Chartres - a beautiful medieval town with an absolutely stunning cathedral showcasing both Romanesque and Gothic architecture with and impressive array of handmade stained glass windows dated back to the 13th and 14th centuries. This cathedral is in the process of being restored to its former state after several centuries worth of weather, soot, wars and life. Saint Patrice - a teeny tiny village located in the heart of the Loire Valley home to a small yet elegant Chateau and within miles of other chateaux of the Loire

What: oogling at the architecture of the beautiful cathedral, munching on freshly baked baguettes while window shopping and admiring the stained glass artists in Chartres and walking around pathways and side streets  the chateau/hotel in Saint Patrice in preparation for that night's dinner (mostly more bread and dessert!)

stay tuned for more of my adventures in the Loire and in France!
