Balance

"Work is a part of life. But your life is not your work." - Carly A. Heitlinger

I could not agree with this statement from one of my favorite bloggers, Carly. I have had so much on my plate these past few weeks with piano, school work, working out, eating healthy, AND blogging. Having to have all of these activities shoved in my face is quite overwhelming; without organization. I can tell you what my plans are for the rest of the year because I am so very organized.

But lately, I have been struggling balancing all of this PLUS social events and having time just for me. I kind of imagine life as a pie chart, and everything must be equal on the pie chart for it to work. wow I'm such a nerd.

Here is how I am surviving: even though I am organized I cannot go absolutely crazy if there is one flaw in my plan, everything happens for a reason.

LISTS AND VISUAL PLANNING // When it come to school and life I am a very visual person. I like to set up my week with this adorable to-do list I found online. It really helps me visualize my week before me. I also recommend this Pinterest page for everything from beauty to organization. It is my new favorite.

PLANNER // My Lilly planner is a LIFESAVER. It helps keep all of my events in one place, and everything I put in here goes on my iPhone (iOS 7 eep!) calendar. This way it reminds me of events so I don't forget about them.

DAY TO DAY CALENDARS // I like these calendars to put in my planner to cross off the days after they are complete. It provides such a fulfilling feeling or completion.

ORGANIZE TIME // I like to tidy up my work at the beginning of the day and at the end of the night. That way I don't have to have loose papers and objects looming around.

MEDITATION // I need to take more time to do this. I also need to start yoga again. And at the end of the day, I reflect on what I did and what I need to to better.

MUSIC // Music is a wonderful escape. I love Pandora. Someday I will share my favorite stations.

xx, Kira
